Location: Malibu, California off the PCH.
Accessibility/Parking (Volkswagon Golf or Jeep Cherokee): We took our Jeep on the trip, but you can park in the small visitors lot or like we did on the side of the highway in any vehicle.
Challenge Level (1: A female in her late 20’s in decent shape thought it was easy as pie to 5: Gonna need a forklift to help me finish this): 3, if you do want to hike up to the large “waterfall” it is pretty steep and requires hanging on to some boulders and rope. There are areas for free climbing if you are into that.
Best Time: I would imagine hiking in California is easily year-round.
Overall Rating (1: Wouldn’t recommend 2: Bleh 3: Fun but wouldn’t do it again 4: Loved it 5: A favorite, must plan return trip immediately): I am going to say 3, although it would be cool to return and see the waterfalls. Without them it wasn’t too different from the mountain hikes in Phx (well, outside of the ocean views and mansions on the hills on the way to the trailhead).
